Lagos Fiesta: KSA, Olamide, MI, Falz, Tiwa Savage, More!|Orphan Wins Lagos Got Talent
The One Lagos Fiesta, which kicked off on Christmas eve, December 24, 2016, came to an end on January 1st 2017 in an unrivalled celebration of music, arts, culture and the people of Lagos State.
The finale which held simultaneously in 5 locations across the state, saw the Executive Governor of Lagos State, make a final stop at theVictoria Island location for the New Year’s Eve Countdown, after having earlier visited the other centres in Ikorodu, Agege, Epe, and Badagry.
The countdown event attended by hundreds of thousands across the state and viewed by millions around the world live on TV and online featured fireworks displays, and performances from theLegendary King Sunny Ade, and A-list pop stars like Olamide, Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, Reekado Banks, Patoranking, Falz, MI, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, Mr. May D,and several others.
At the Ikorodu venue, Fuji legend, Obesereclosed the show, while Dare Melody thrilled the Agege crowd into the New Year, alongsideAdewale Ayuba, Smaill Doctor, Orezi, and others.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule joined the crowd at Badagry, with Reminisce and Fuji musician, Atawewe.

The 8-day event had celebrities like IK Osakioduwa, DJ Lambo, GT Da Guitarman, and dignitaries like the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, and state officials like the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture,Hon. Mrs. Adebimpe Akinsola in attendance at the Bar Beach venue.
18-year-old, Ojo Ogunlaja AKA Mr. Gula, a 100 Level student of Sociology from the Lagos State University, has emerged winner of the first edition of Lagos Got Talent competition.
Ojo, who represented Epe zone alongside 11-year-old, Opeyemi Ishola, another rapper, beat other finalists who had earlier emerged from zonal auditions which originally produced 250 talents. Contestants at the finale included a pair of contortionists, 3 rappers and a group of dynamic dancers.
While expressing his excitement about winning, Ojo revealed that he had lost both parents in his family of 7 at a very young age, and that the loss served as his main motivation all through the competition.
The winner and runners-up, Mariam AbiodunAKA Caddy Bliss, and the duo of Popoola Tobilola and Gbadamosi Joseph, were all congratulated by the Lagos State Governor,Akinwunmi Ambode, and encouraged to continue to hone and perfect their talents.
