What were the first words you said to your wife?

I love you. Smiles.

How did you meet her?

My wife and I grew up in the same church, Assemblies of God Church, then she left for school and I went into ministry work. She attended the same school with my elder brother who is a medical doctor. As a result, she was always relating with him and my mum. My mum would always send stuff through her to my brother. One day, my mother who is also a close friend to her mum asked if she normally checked on me and she said no. My mother then gave her my number, she called and I told her where I stayed and she could stop by at any time. The first day she came, I was with my friends and I told them that I found my wife.

When did you know you would end up marrying her?

From day one, I just had that knowledge.

At first, she was dragging but I made it clear what my intentions were.

How has the marital journey been?

I’m grateful. You know marriage has its own ups and downs. The first five years we were trying to accept many changes but as children of God we understand the plans of God for our lives. We are scaling through every obstacle.

What event made your wedding day memorable?

The attendance was mind-blowing. It rained heavily on that day but when the rain stopped, the hall was jam-packed as if people were waiting for the rain to stop. It was mind-blowing to know how much people loved us and came round to honour us. At least, we had over a thousand guests.

How have you been able to balance your career and home?

I’ve been able to put my wife in the loop of everything and make her understand the rudiments of what I do. We pray and discuss, she does most of my bookings so she knows my itinerary.

What’s the best part of your marriage so far?

Having blessed children and seeing them grow in the Lord.

What’s your advice to young people planning to marry?

My advice would be that they should not rush or be pressured into marriage. There is a perfect will of God and there is a permissive will of God. Make sure you are getting married to your friend, someone you can share with, who would see your faults and mistakes and still decide to remain. Most of all, don’t take God out of your choice, it is going to affect you in the future, no matter how beautiful or handsome, rich or poor the guy or lady may look, once it is the will of God, trust me, it is a matter of time.
